I also went to MidValley today. Nope, not to hang out with friends. NOPE, not to hang out with mum. And nope, not to go crazy shopping. But yes, to go crazy BOOK shopping. =) MPH has a sale right now, until March 2nd??? Well 15% off all books for members. Oh and from today (27th Feb) till 29th Feb, members will get an additional 5% discount off ALL BOOKS!!! So its definitely an offer worth grabbing. I mean books in Malaysia IS NOT cheap. New releases are AT LEAST RM50. Some old books can go to... LOWEST around RM20 and those chick-lits I have normal shelf price is RM40 to RM50. So... to satisfy my reading hobby/needs DOES NOT COME CHEAP!!! Which definitely PISSES me off badly. Because the bloody government tells us to read more. Encourage usbla bla bla . But how to? When one book is so expensive? Can't blame them that much though, because of the currency conversion, but it is pissing off. I mean, yea there's the tax exemption. But I don't pay taxes... I'm young la!Soooo... aiyo!!! annoying ok !!! So I basically feed off my mum's money when I buy books. I really really can't afford to get any on my own. Not with my... non-existence... allowance and stuff. And my mum doesn't mind. Because 1) I enjoy reading. 2) She ALWAYS encourages us to read... ANY READING MATERIAL - and I do, newspapers, magazines, Reader's Digest etc etc You name it even a leaflet =D and 3) She knows I can't afford it 4) She doesn't mind =D
Well now, I have many books to read. And since there's not many chick-lits authors I like, and I've bought all of the books that the authors I like have written... I've branched out to Jodi Picoult. Oh, these are the chick-lit authors that I absolutely adore: Marian Keyes, Sophie Kinsella, Nisha Minhas, Cecelia Ahern, Kate Cann, Janet Evanovich and Meg Cabot. Of course there's some other books I've read, but I think these few are above the rest =) These authors dominate my shelves.Hahahaha. Oh and some books are on Julz REALLY messy shelf (mainly Meg Cabot and Kate Cann) because well, its for a younger generation kinda writing. You read and you'll understand. Oooo, if you know of any other good chick-lits out there, let me know =D I'm waiting for Marian Keyes' The Charming Man which will be released mid-year and Meg Cabot's Queen of Babble gets Hitched also mid-year. Wheeeee!!! Ohhh, and I think one of the best thrillers to read is Michael Connelly. I've read The Poet (which gripped me) and Lincoln Lawyer (AWESOME-ness!). I still have Echo Park to read, which I bought awhile back. He has sooo many more ok!!! Of course, there are many other authors, but... I'm on this one for now. Ohhh and Wild Swans is an AWESOME book.
So yes, here is what I bought. MY FIRST EVER Autobiography that I read. And its none other than one of my "heroes", Steven Gerrard (Gerrard My Autobiography). I'm on the lookout for Ellen Degeneres' My point and I do have one. Let me know if you come across it anywhere. I'd love to get my hands on it. Sophie Kinsella's Remember Me? I'm halfway through it already. =D Hehehehe. Its her latest release and costs RM74.90, but with the discount... SO MUCH LESS! hehehe. Kate Cann's Californian Holiday. I've read Spanish Holiday, Greecian Holiday and Mediterranean Holiday. So the remaining one was that. All on julz shelf. Ooo, I got Janet Evanovich's latest release Wife for Hire for 20% plus the extra 5%. AWESOME!!!! Meg Cabot's Size Doesn't Matter, which is the follow-up of Size 14 is not fat either! Michael Connelly's The Overlook and one of Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper. If I like it I'm going to get more of her books. And a cook book. Cooking Light Italian... at 25% off with another extra 5% wahahahahahaha!!! If you do know me, you'll wonder why I got so little books. I know I know!!! SIGH!!! Should have gotten more eh? Julz was like "why this time so little?" hahahaha. =) One time, my mum's wallet went nearly dry... I got a lot of Marian Keyes books and some other ones I picked out. And that time, there was no offer. And... hehehe. about 14books for me alone in total. LOL!!! Well what to do? This time the bill came to RM312. Last time it was RM500. SHITS!!! hahaha!!!
I'm VERY proud of my book collection. You may call me a nerd. I don't bloody care. I love reading and you can't take that away from me =D
Hehehe, I just BORED you with all this book talk didn't I??? LOL LOL!!!!!!!!!!
Another thing I've been doing to past my time... STUDYING! I know... You'd think I'd take it easy and drop the "textbooks" right? Well I have... kinda. =P hahaha. I'm reading up on German Shepherds and learning how to train it. Because...we didn't train Floppy and now... hahahaha, she's SOOOOOOO stubborn and well, hyper... and doesn't listen to our orders. So here's proof =D

And at night, when I can't sleep. I kinda find this therapeutic. Because I can close my eyes and do it. Relax my eyes. I fold stars. And I love it!!! hehehe =D I only do it at night. Somehow in the day... I find other things to do. Lol. its more magical to do at night. =D Especially when the moon's light is shining through my window.
So now you know. And oh yea, I work as well. For mum. I go to the office. Sit around and read until she needs my help. And I help and help. Normally computer related things and account things and drafting things up and stuff... A lot of secretarial work. Lol. And then when i'm done, read more until she needs more help. So yeap. Ohhh, I'm not only on-call for my mum.. its like WHOEVER needs me in the whole office... I could go and help in the warehouse if needed... packing and sweating it out. No driving forklifts though =( Or I could head to the sales office to help out if needed. So yes!
My life! how... cool? Hahahaha well, certain things I do I reallllly enjoy. Ahem reading. *cough cough* NERD *cough cough* ahhhh to hell with that!!!
TOodlesssssss!
PS: I may take a break from blogging for awhile... all the books. *grins*
